The Missouri Economic Development Council (MEDC) is a statewide, not-for-profit association of economic development professionals and community leaders. Created in 1979 to provide a unified voice for economic development, MEDC offers its members programs in professional education, legislation and marketing.
MEDC is dedicated to enhancing economic growth through its own program initiatives and in collaboration with other economic development entities. Whether working independently or in cooperation with the Missouri Department of Economic Development, the Hawthorn Foundation, or other groups, MEDC is proud of its reputation to get the job done ... effectively and professionally. MEDC is assisted by a professional staff in carrying out its mission.
MEDC's mission is to serve as an authoritative voice in Missouri on economic development and related issues through an effective program of professional development, public policy, marketing and communications.
Robert Harrington - Economic Developer for Barton County was recently appointed to the Board of Directors representing District 6 of the State. Rob is very excited to serve in this capacity and to continue to work with MEDC to further its mission, which helps all of Barton County. MEDC has been instrumental in his career as an Economic Developer both in terms of education and in networking to establish the relationships that will help with the creation of new jobs in Barton County through retention, expansion and attraction efforts.
